The World’s Fair

You can learn a lot about a city by what its residents do for fun.  Whether they visit museums or go for hikes, it gives them insight into what the entire city or state is like and what it prioritizes in life.

These are the top activities Knoxville residents do for fun!

Check Out the Zoo!

Zoos are one of the best ways to get in touch with nature and learn about wildlife from all around the world while staying close to what you know.  Zoo Knoxville is one of the best zoos you could go to!  Emphasizing education, this destination is home to over 1,200 animals and has over half a million visitors every year.

Stopping here means you can take in how tall giraffes really get or watch a herd of zebras play and have fun.  It’s an incredible experience and a fantastic destination for anyone in Knoxville.

Explore the Ijams Nature Center

When locals need a break from looking at new Knoxville real estate, they head to Ijams Nature Center.  This breathtaking park allows you to walk through nature, sometimes above and close to water, other times deep in the woods on a clean path.  It’s easy to lose yourself on this trail and have fun exploring the wild.  Dogs have to be on a leash if you bring them here!

Have Fun at World’s Fair Park

The World’s Fair was an incredible event that Knoxville was proud to host in 1982, and this park still stands as a symbol of the city’s excellence.  The Sunsphere guides people to the park, and it and the Tennessee Amphitheater are the only two structures remaining from that event.  This is a stop to getting in touch with history in ways you only can in Knoxville.

Get Inspired at Knoxville Museum of Art

Art is what keeps the world moving forward, and visiting the Knoxville Museum of Art is all you need to feel that inspiration pick you up and guide you into creativity.  This awesome location in eastern Knoxville covers most of this region of Tennessee, offering both new and older art that gives you a glimpse into the lives of the artists.

There are also hands-on exhibits that allow kids to have fun and cut loose while they’re here!  This is a fantastic destination for everyone.

Live Differently at Neyland Stadium

Sports are a siren song that brings countless people to Knoxville, and Neyland Stadium is the center point of that call!  This beautiful stadium is the home of the Tennessee Volunteers football team and used to host large conventions and NFL exhibition games.  Although it can fit 101,915, it has changed shape and size during renovations and has slightly shrunk in size.

This stadium turned 100 in 2021 and is a proud reminder of how much this state has to offer!

Knoxville is Stunning!

Although this isn’t as large a city as Los Angeles or New York City, Knoxville is still incredible.  Next time you’re in town, take the time to visit some of these fun attractions!
